COMMERCIAL: PricewaterhouseCoopers have been appointed to review the transfer of NHS Plymouth’s provider arm to a social enterprise.
The primary care trust has met the requirement, under the transforming community services programme, to demonstrate formal separation of provider and commissioner arms by 31 March 2011.
The full transfer to a new social enterprise is scheduled to be complete by October 2011, subject to formal approval from the PCT board and NHS South West.
In the meantime the PCT is focusing on further developing an integrated business plan and has appointed PwC to look at the due diligence process.
Subject to staff side agreement, formal Transfer of Undertakings Protection of Employment (TUPE) consultation will commence on 1 June.
