The Labour Party has confirmed the ministerial responsibilities that will be covered by its shadow health team.
Working with former housing minister John Healy as shadow health secretary, failed leadership candidate Diane Abbott will shadow the public health brief held by Anne Milton.
Former Kings Fund researcher, now MP for Leicester West, Liz Kendall will shadow Lord Howe on areas including the NHS constitution and commissioning reform.
Islington South and Finsbury MP Emily Thornberry will take on the role of shadowing Paul Burstow - whose brief includes adult social care and mental health - as well as the NHS workforce, pay and pensions, part of Simon Burns’ responsibilities. The rest of Simon Burns’ brief will be shadowed by Derek Twigg, MP for Halton in Cheshire.
