  • From April 2011 - Some choice of treatment and provider in mental health; expansion of PROMS; begin implementation of public health service
  • June 2011 - Nationally comparable information on quality accounts published
  • By July 2011 - Report on funding of long term care and support
  • 2011-12 - Shadow GP consortia and commissioning board established; white paper on social care reform
  • 2012 - Free choice of GP practice with open list; formal establishment of GP consortia; NHS outcomes framework fully implemented
  • By April 2012 - NHS commissioning board established; public health service in place with ringfenced budget; HealthWatch established; Monitor becomes full economic regulator
  • Autumn 2012 - NHS commissioning board makes 2013-14 allocations direct to GP consortia
  • 2012-13 - SHAs abolished
  • From April 2013 - PCTs abolished; all trusts become, or are part of, foundation trusts
  • By 2013-14 - Introduction of value based approach to way drug companies are paid for medicines; management costs reduced by over 45 per cent
  • By July 2015 - NICE to produce 150 quality standards
