PERFORMANCE: Providers in the Hampshire area have struggled to meet the four hour accident and emergency waiting times target in quarter one of 2012-13.
July board papers for the Southampton, Hampshire, Isle of Wight and Portsmouth primary care trust cluster say Portsmouth Hospitals, University Hospital Southampton and the Royal Surrey trusts all missed the target.
In the cluster only the Isle of Wight area met the target of 95 per cent of patients being treated or discharged within four hours.
In Portsmouth, the figure was 90.1 per cent. Hampshire’s score was 94.1 per cent, while the figure for Southampton was 93.4 per cent.
However, the papers say: “Providers have performed better during July and all are confident that the target will be met quarterly going forwards.”
