The blind drive to force the introduction of local involvement networks and abolish patient and public involvement forums is dangerous and misguided.

The blind drive to force the introduction of local involvement networks and abolish patient and public involvement forums is dangerous and misguided.

No-one has asked for LINks: the call to retain PPI forums is reasoned, consistent and ubiquitous. Well-being, safety, quality of experience are what matter to patients. Accountability, transparency and real influence are what matter to the public. PPI forums are uniquely able to ensure this for their locality.

To lose PPI forums to LINks would be more than ill-advised, it would be a disaster.
