PERFORMANCE East of England Ambulance Service Trust’s foundation trust bid has been deferred for 12 months, Monitor has announced.

The trust has not yet demonstrated it can meet the necessary quality performance threshold for authorisation, the regulator said.

The announcement follows the trust failing its 19 minute response time target and Monitor said it has not yet provided evidence that it has a robust action plan in place to address this.

Monitor said the trust also needed to get the all clear from the Care Quality Commission before foundation trust status could be granted.
