FINANCE: West Midlands Ambulance Service Foundation Trust has allocated £3.6m over two years to build a new ambulance base in Stoke-on-Trent.

The move from the current site in the Penkhull area of the city to a site near the A500 Etruria flyover reflects rising patient demand, the trust said.

The development is highlighted in the trust’s spending plans for 2015-16 and 2016-17.

Finance director Rupert Davies also said there would be further investment in NHS 111 services worth £1m in 2016-17.
