WORKFORCE: Tyne, Esk and Wear Valleys Foundation Trust is struggling to bring sickness evidence down to a target level of 5 per cent. In August, it was running at 5.8 per cent and was particularly high in forensics and in estates and facilities.
The trust has undertaken several pieces of work to address this including an early intervention scheme to address employees’ absence swiftly. However, it is too early to assess the results of this.
