STRUCTURE: The Department of Health was due to reconsider the trust’s bid for foundation status yesterday (11 July), latest NHS North of England board papers show.
The provider development update submitted to today’s board meeting of the strategic health authority cluster states that NWAS’s application was deferred for three months in April, following consideration by the DH technical committee.
It continues: “The Trust has completed an action plan to meet the requirements of the Technical Committee and it is planned to resubmit documentation on 27 June for consideration by the 11 July 2012 TC. CAT A8 performance continues to be good and sustained. Historically NWAS has achieved the CAT A19 target. However, it has been below the 95% target in Q 1 but is improving. The Trust identifies higher than expected activity levels and issues with hospital turnaround times. The Trust is actively managing the situation and performance in June has improved. Latest week: 96.25%, year to date: 94.70%”
