Clinical commissioning groups in Norfolk have called on the East of England Ambulance Service Trust to improve its 111 and out of hours performance.

West Norfolk Clinical Commissioning Group’s board papers said: “111 and out of hours performance is also poor, with breaks in service and inadequate staffing levels to provide telephone triage.

“A contract query letter was sent by North Norfolk CCG on behalf of all CCGs and a performance meeting held with Andrew Morgan where remedial actions were agreed.

“The East of England Ambulance Service Trust has since been actively recruiting more staff and the senior management team is due to meet with individual CCGs in January.”

The board papers were submitted to NHS Norfolk for its January board meeting on 23 January.
