PERFORMANCE: Delays at hospital are causing East of England Ambulance Service Trust to miss performance targets.

A report to the February board meeting said that “extraordinary levels of hospital delays” at the Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital during the week ending February 12 meant that it failed to meet targets.

The following week it experienced its highest ever levels of delays with nine per cent lasting more than an hour.

It acknowledges that this week was particularly busy with a 10 to 20 per cent increase in emergency activity, and it underperformed on the two key time to treatment targets on each day that week.
