PERFORMANCE: London Ambulance Service Trust missed response and handover time targets in December, board papers reveal.

The category A eight minute responses were at 71.4 per cent against a target of 85 per cent.

Fifteen minute-handovers, for which the target was also 85 per cent, were actually 74.2 per cent.

A report to the board said: “Cat A performance has come under pressure during December following rising call volumes. Funding has been agreed to improve triage and front line hours over the winter period.”

It added: “Handover delays have not increased as much as in other parts of the country.”
