FINANCE: West Midlands Ambulance Service Trust is planning £9m in cost improvements in 2012-13 to enable it to make a £4m surplus.
The savings will need to be made against a backdrop of falling payments.
The board was told that thee plan was to slightly reduce the number of staff - by 31 WTE - while activity is expected to grow by around 4.5 per cent.
