Public Health England’s chief executive is self-isolating with symptoms of coronavirus.
A PHE spokesperson confirmed to LGC Duncan Selbie started to develop symptoms consistent with covid-19 at the weekend.
He is continuing to lead PHE’s response to the coronavirus crisis from home.
Mr Selbie had been due to speak at this morning’s Commons health and social care committee session on preparations for coronavirus.
