Shortlisted organisations have demonstrated they deliver improved value and efficiency and have been judged to be pioneers in this increasingly important area as the health service copes with both increased demand and constrained funding.

HSJ editor Alastair McLellan said: “Eight years after the NHS had to begin focusing on efficiency as funding tightened all the easy options have long since disappeared. The finalists of this year’s HSJ Value Awards have been successful in the most difficult of tasks, finding ways to improve value for money through cutting edge innovation that protects and sometimes even enhances patient experience, safety and outcomes.”

The final round of judging starts on 4 April. The winners will be announced at a ceremony in Manchester on 7 June.
