STRUCTURE: The Queen Victoria Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is due to begin site redevelopment in March in preparation for the building of new surgical facilities.

An estates and capital programme report presented to the January governor’s meeting said: “Design development work is progressing well with 1:50 plans issued for sign off by the users and senior trust members.

“This process will continue through to February when Wilmott Dixon will submit their detailed proposals for the scheme for consideration by the trust.”

The report added: ““Demolition of existing buildings and construction of the new access road will commence in March in preparation for the theatre build.

“Construction of the new building is scheduled for early summer with anticipated completion at the end of March 2013.”
