FINANCE: Queen Victoria Hospital FT is projected to overperform against its budget with Sussex PCTs by £500,000 this year.
The Sussex Commissioning Support Unit made the prediction based on provider monitoring returns for the first two months of the financial year.
Its report said the projected over spend against plan and budget for QVH was £500,000 by the end of the financial year.
It highlighted that elective activity was slightly over plan but decreased significantly between April and May.
Both first and follow up outpatient appointments are higher than planned, although the follow up ratio decreased between April and May, it also noted.
Non-elective activity was less than planned but A&E activity is higher than planned, the report added.
However, it said the FT was failing to meet performance targets relating to providing first definitive treatment to all cancer patients within one month, cancelled operations, providing discharge letters within 24 hours of discharge, and hand hygiene.
