FINANCE: Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust has been given a £6m by NHS South of England to help pay down an historic debt.
The funding was originally agreed as a working capital loan to improve the trust’s liquidity as it goes through the foundation trust application proceess.
A spokesman for the trust said the decision was made to provide it as additional income in “recognition of the progress” the trust has made and to “support” its foundation trust application which is currently with Monitor.
