PERFORMANCE: Care Quality Commission inspectors found the Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust was meeting five of the essential standards during an inspection in May.

Inspectors checked to see if the trust was meeting standards on safeguarding, the provision of care in mixed gender wards, the suitability of the premises, staff training and supervision, and quality monitoring at the main site and St Michael’s Hospital.

The report, published in July, found the trust was meeting all of the inspected standards.

However, a report to the trust board said the CQC had asked the trust to note a number of potential issues including the ratio of toilet and shower facilities to beds on wards, parking for disabled visitors and clinical supervision arrangements.
