PERFORMANCE: Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust failed the accident and emergency four hour standard during the first two months of 2012-13.
In April 93.6 per cent of patients were treated and admitted or discharged within four hours. This fell to 91.9 per cent in May.
During the same period 25.5 per cent of patients had a lentgh of stay longer than 10 days, against a target of 23 per cent while average lentgh of stay was slightly above plan at 2.9 days against a target of 2.5.
However, a new urgent care centre opened at West Cornwall Hospital on 6 June which it is hoped will relieve the pressure.
