WORKFORCE: Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust has set up a clinical cabinet to provide advice to the trust board and executive.

The group, which recently held its inaugrual meeting, includes consultants and other clinicians. It is one of a number of measures the trust is taking to improve staff engagement following disappointing staff survey results.

Other measures put in place during the past year include a monthly team brief with the chief executive and clinical leaders, and awards scheme and a drive to increase the number of appraisals carried out which has seen the proportion of staff who have had a review increase from 50 per cent to 70 per cent.
