PERFORMANCE: Royal Liverpool and Broadgreen University Hospitals Trust has made “excellent progress” in reducing MRSA and other infections, according to the trust’s Quality Account for 2011-12.

The reports shows MRSA infections fell from 18 in 2009-10 to just four in 2011-12 while C difficile cases went from 222 in 2009-10 to 64 in 2011-12.

The trust’s target for 2012-13 is no more than four MRSA cases and no more than 73 C diff cases.
