FINANCE: The foundation trust has agreed a block contract with its primary care trust, NHS Surrey, for the remainder of the year.
In December the foundation trust reported an in-month surplus of £286,000, which is £365,000 worse than plan, and a £4.835m surplus at end of year, which is £462,000 better than plan.
Board papers say the trust has agreed a full year block with NHS Surrey of £157.1m – income levels are therefore fixed – which “mitigates against any risk of adverse weather conditions that may occur”.
It states: “As our income is now fixed, the controlling of non pay costs will be essential during the last quarter of the year to achieve our plan.”
