Nicholas Sands discussed how his organisation is managing the booking of outpatient appointments, particularly in the face of the backlog caused by the pandemic. He was joined on the panel by his colleague Sharon Osterfield, head of automation and programme manager – transformation.

Offering an overarching perspective on the current challenges was Sarah Reed, senior fellow in policy and research, Nuffield Trust.

In a discussion chaired by HSJ contributor Claire Read – and supported by Blue Prism, whose healthcare account director Karen Gorman rounded out the panel – the group discussed how hospitals might ensure the most effective management of outpatient appointment booking in the coming months and beyond.

The free HSJ webinar took place on Tuesday 25 May from 10.30am to 11.15am.
