WORKFORCE: A new chief executive has taken over at The Children’s Hospital, Sheffield.

Simon Morritt officially started on June 13, after leaving NHS Bradford and Airedale where he was chief executive for four years.

He said: “This is a challenging time for the NHS but the Trust is in a strong position and can face the future with confidence.

“I have visited the trust many times now and it is clear that the hospital is unique and has a special place in the hearts of the people of Sheffield and beyond. The staff are fantastic and totally committed to meeting the needs of children and their families.”

Chris Sharratt retired from the post earlier this month after 15 years as chief executive.
