PERFORMANCE: Sheffield Teaching Hospitals Foundation Trust will miss the four hour accident and emergency target for 2012-13 after performance in January was only just above 90 per cent, board papers state.
The March trust board heard that this was a slight improvement on December but the trust would miss the target for the year. The target is for 95 per cent of A&E patients to be admitted or treated and discharged within four hours.
The trust also had 500 patients waiting longer than 20 weeks – an increase in the December figure of 443 and the highest figure since last February.
