PERFORMANCE: Sherwood Forest Hospitals Foundation Trust is performing below average on five out of nine stroke indicators.

Overall, the results from quarter three from the ongoing measurement against the nine sentinel audit key performance indicators shows continued improvement in nearly all indicators. 

The percentage of patients whose care achieves all nine indicators has improved from 48 per cent in quarter two to 72 per cent in quarter three (target 75 per cent).

However, the trust is scoring below the national median average on five indicators:
*Screening for swallowing disorders less than 24 hours after admission

*Brain scan within 24 hours of stroke

*Aspirin or clopidogrel by 48 hours after stroke

*Occupational therapy assessment within four working days of admission

*Rehabilitation goals agreed by the multidisciplinary team
