WORKFORCE: A new state-of-the art school for nurses, midwives and physiotherapists has opened new premises at the trust’s King’s Mill Hospital.
The new centre features 15 classrooms including a 30-place multimedia computer learning hub, a clinical skills simulation suite with a range of the latest simulation equipment to help develop practical skills, and video conferencing facilities.
The centre, which was previously housed in the Dukeries Centre at the hospital, is one of five regional education centres operated by the University of Nottingham School of Nursing, Midwifery and Physiotherapy – all of which are based in clinical hospital settings.
Head of school Mark Avis said: “The development of this modern education centre reflects a joint commitment of Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and the University of Nottingham School of Nursing, Midwifery and Physiotherapy to deliver high quality education and training for health care staff in Mansfield”.
