PERFORMANCE: Sherwood Forest Hospitals Foundation Trust is finding it “challenging” to deliver mandatory training.

There are 1,860 clinical trust staff who still require safeguarding adults, Mental Capacity Act and deprivation of liberty training.

Board papers say mental capacity training “remains challenging” “due to the pressures to deliver numerous topics. This is despite “increased use of the mental capacity act in practice”.

The papers state that 641 staff during the reported period received mental capacity training, of which 23 per cent were clinical staff.
