PERFORMANCE: Sherwood Forest Hospitals Foundation Trust has now gone two years without a case of MRSA making it one of the best performing hospitals in the NHS.
Over the past year the trust aimed to reduce the number of C difficile cases to 43 for the year. It recorded 45 cases, a 17 per cent drop compared to the previous year.
This is the equivalent infection rate of 0.14 per 10,000 bed days putting the trust in the upper quarter of trusts nationally.
Chief executive Martin Wakeley said: “We remain however committed to being one of the best performing trusts in the country and have strengthened our capacity and capability further and have set an internal target of 36 for 2012-13 in order to deliver on our ambitions.”
