The 2019 HSJ Value Awards shortlist has been revealed.
The HSJ Value Awards recognise excellent use of resources, and also seek out examples of demonstrable improvement in outcomes, both within back office functions and clinical initiatives of the NHS.
Out of hundreds of entries, 166 projects and initiatives were selected as finalists for this year’s awards programme including technological capabilities managing capacity and sharing information, as well as workforce innovations saving money. The final round of judging will take place in April where shortlisted organisations will present their projects to our panel of experts and NHS leaders.
Alastair McLellan, HSJ editor, said “The new funding won by the NHS in last autumn’s budget does not lessen the need for the service to seek efficiencies and innovation wherever it can find it. For along with the extra cash comes raised expectations from government and public.
“The shortlisted entries for this year’s value awards once again shows the ambition of NHS organisations to improve quality alongside value for money.”
Winners will be announced at an awards ceremony on 23 May in Manchester Central, Manchester.
