PERFORMANCE: Delayed transfers at Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals Trust have been running at nearly two thirds above target this financial year, though they are now showing signs of decline.

The target for 2011-12 is 26 patients per day (3.5 per cent of bed base).

In May the average daily number of patients confirmed as Delayed Transfers of Care was 42, down from 50 in April.

The problem is red rated in performance papers. However, the trust is forecasting that the overall number of 26 patients or less will be achieved by December 2011.
