FINANCE: Shrewsbury and Telford Hospitals Trust recorded a surplus for the first time in the year at the end of January amounting to £123,000.
The trust had planned to record a deficit at this stage in the financial year of £896,000.
In the period April to January the trust had generated a surplus income amounting to £4.548m, and is forecast to increase to £6.135m by the year end.
The forecast outturn has increased by £700,000 because the Shropshire County and Telford and Wrekin PCTs have released further funding to enable the RTT target to be achieved by the year end.
