COMMERCIAL: West Mercia clinical commissioning groups have chosen an alternative supplier of commissioning support services after plans to establish a local provider in their area were abandoned.
The West Mercia CSS plan was scrapped in the spring after being found lacking at “checkpoint two” of the NHS Commissioning Board’s assurance process.
Since then the board has worked with CCGs to help them choose a new provider. The board said that, while the choice was down to CCGs, it had “held the ring” in the discussions. It is the first time any CCGs have switched support provider.
CCGs in Shropshire, Telford and Wrekin, and Herefordshire will work with the Staffordshire CSS.
CCGs in Worcestershire will work with the Arden CSS.
