COMMERCIAL: Solent NHS Foundation Trust has been awarded a contract to take over Winchester and Eastleigh Healthcare NHS Trust’s sexual health services.
The mental health and community services provider won the contract through a tendering process and will take over providing the services from January 2012.
The trust’s family services report, published ahead of its 2 November board meeting, also said a consultation on birth services for mid Hampshire is nearly complete, and was due to finish on 31 October.
The trust will report to the Hampshire council overview and scrutiny committee on 29 November, a report is expected to be presented to the trust’s board on 30 November.
The report also said that its gynaecology and breast surgeons have implemented new timetables, enabling one ward to close on Friday evenings by carrying out more complex operations earlier in the week.
