STRUCTURE: The south east London sector Quality, Innovation, Productivity and Prevention plan said mental health services in Lambeth, one of the sector’s six PCTs, would face “system change within [the] context of circa 20 per cent savings”.
The strategy document said the four planned aspects of this change were: “personalisation and access to universal services, decommission [the] range of specialist services (provided by South London and Maudsley) and or provide differently, reduce number of acute beds and residential placements and improve efficiency of SLaM and its relationship with primary care (including triage, speedier assessments and regular case review)”.
