STRUCTURE: A consultation has begun on controversial changes to paediatric and maternity services at Friarage hospital in Northallerton.

The proposals have been controversial in the area while they have been developed in recent years. A board paper to Yorkshire Ambulance Service Trust says: “South Tees Hospital Foundation Trust are consulting the public for 12 weeks ending the 25 November on Paediatric and Maternity service changes to the Friarage hospital in Northallerton. YAS is working with South Tees Hospital FT and the commissioner, Hambleton, Richmondshire and Whitby Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG), and the Comissioning Support Unit (CSU) to ensure that plans and additional resources are in place to ensure current 999 delivery is maintained as a result of any planned service changes.”
