PERFORMANCE: South Tees Hospitals Foundation Trust has failed to meet its admitted standard for 18 week referral to treatment times for three consecutive quarters.

According to board papers from its November governing body meeting, 86.9% of admitted patients were referred to treatment within 18 weeks, against a standard of 90%, “due to the on-going work to address the long waiting patient backlog”.

It is now subject to an automatic investigation by Monitor.
