STRUCTURE: Middlesbrough, Redcar and Cleveland Community Services (MRCCS) has joined South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, under the transforming community services programme.
Lisa Tempest, chief operating officer for MRCCS, said: “We are looking forward to working more closely with our colleagues in our local foundation trust hospitals and I am confident that we can learn from each other and work together to develop smoother and more efficient pathways of care for our patients.”
South Tees chief executive Simon Pleydell added: “We are delighted to welcome community services staff to this trust. For us this wasn’t about taking on new services just for the sake of becoming a bigger trust, for us this move is about bringing together the best ideas and best practices from both community and hospital services and working side-by-side to improve the care of the people we all serve.
“We are excited about the benefits this will bring both to staff and patients and we are looking at ways to join up care for our patients from their homes all the way through to the hi-tech facilities now available in hospitals.”
