FINANCE: The south west London PCT NHS Kingston has reported it “is still able to deliver its target surplus of £3.9m, however, in order for this to be achieved both the transition fund and 0.5 per cent contingency reserve have been utilised in its entirety”.
A board report said this was necessary to “offset increased acute over-performance”.
It said this comprised £2.5m with Kingston Hospital. £1.9m with St George’s and £1.3m with various foundation trusts.
It is predicting a total acute overspend of £4.8m after challenging some of the spend “however this [total] assumes a reduction in the monthly levels of over performance due to the completion of 18 week activity at the beginning of the year.”
