PERFORMANCE: The South Central Ambulance Service NHS Trust has been voted Fleet Safety Champion of the Year for the public sector.
The prize, from the Fleet News 2011 Fleet Van Awards, was given in December.
The citation said the trust’s “focus on safety is paramount with intensive training and a vehicle maintenance programme that far exceeds any manufacturer requirement…
SCAS has the best safety record of any ambulance fleet in the country and deservedly takes the safety champion award in the public sector.”
Rick Stillman, Head of Fleet for SCAS said: “The Fleet Safety Champion of the Year Award is a reflection of the quality of our policies and the dedication and work done by a number of departments and individuals within SCAS who have worked together with me towards achieving Van Excellence accreditation. I would like to express my thanks to all involved.”
