WORKFORCE: North Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Clinical Commissioning Groups have appointed Jayne Downey as joint director of nursing and quality.

Mrs Downey, who was previously director of nursing and service delivery at the Robert Jones and Agnes Hunt Orthopaedic Foundation Trust, will sit on the boards of both CCGs.

She will start her role in November, taking over from Rosie Trainor, who has been doing the job in an interim capacity since April.

North Staffordshire CCG chair Dr Mark Shapley said: “The experience Jayne brings with her to the role is one that will be hugely valuable and will certainly provide a great benefit to the people of North Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.

“Jayne brings 21 years of experience in a variety of roles and has significant senior leadership experience.”

Mrs Downey said: “I am really pleased to be given this opportunity and I am looking forward to working with colleagues across the health economy to ensure we deliver high quality care for the patients and public in North Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent.”
