WORKFORCE: Stockport Foundation Trust has appointed a new chair, it announced today.
Gillian Easson, who has served as deputy chair at Stockport for the past six years, will take on her new role at the end of October.
Ms Easson, a solicitor for 30 years, began her career in Stockport and went on to become one of the first female prosecuting solicitors in the North West, the trust said in a statement. She has previously served as a non-executive director of Manchester-based cancer specialist Christie Hospital Foundation Trust, and has carried out reviews on behalf of foundation trust regulator Monitor.
She replaces outgoing chairman Dr Robina Shah.
