STRUCTURE: The transfer of the primary care trust’s provider arm under the Transforming Community Services programme is expected to be delayed until September, and NHS North West board report states.

Under TCS all commissioners were due to have offloaded their community services by March 31. But as HSJ Local previously reported NHS Stockport was forced to seek an alternative solution at a late stage, after a transfer to Ashton, Leigh and Wigan Community Healthcare Trust fell through.

According to a report to NHS North West’s May board meeting, the “[strategic health authority] imposed” transfer to ALW “could not work”, and the “alternative solution” – transferring the services to Stockport Foundation Trust – was now not expected to go through until September.
