STRUCTURE: Suffolk Mental Health Partnership Trust has said it is not in possession of independent reports into its planned merger with Norfolk and Waveney Mental Health FT.
The merger is currently delayed at the request of Monitor and has been ruled against by the Cooperation and Competition Panel.
Following a Freedom of Information request from HSJ for copies of reports into the proposed merger by KPMG and Hempsons solicitors, the trust responded: “I can categorically confirm on behalf of SMHP that we do not have the reports you are requesting.
“You will know that the formal status of the proposed transaction is an acquisition and therefore the reports are in the possession of the acquiring organisation not this one,” it stated.
“The executive directors may have received verbal feedback at meetings but the report has not been distributed into this organization,” it added.
