WORKFORCE: Lisa Rodrigues has returned to her post at the Sussex mental health FT after undergoing gallbladder surgery at a local acute hospital.

In her latest report, Ms Rodrigues said: “As board members know, I have been away from work for two months with gall bladder problems. I came back at the beginning of May 2011.”

She added: “Being away for two months was not something I had planned, but it has given me some time for reflection. I have had outstanding care from Brighton and Sussex University Hospitals NHS Trust, and I would like to go on record and say how lucky we are to have such excellent services here in Sussex.”

Ms Rodrigues also thanked Sue Morris, who became acting chief executive during her absence, and chair John Bacon.

She said: “The team worked very hard and went to great lengths to make sure I was able to concentrate on getting better.”
