WORKFORCE: Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust has become the first ever NHS organisation to make it into the top 10 in the Stonewall Workplace Equality Index.

Sussex partnership came fourth overall in the 2012 index and is the top NHS organisation to make it into the list. It was placed 20 in the 2011 index and 58 in 2010.

Trust chief executive Lisa Rodrigues said: “The Stonewall Index is nationally recognised. I am very proud that today Sussex Partnership is ranked as the best place to work in the NHS, and one of the top four places in the country, for people who are lesbian, gay or bisexual.

“This is an achievement of the highest order and a testament to our commitment to equality.  We have earned this by the efforts of our frontline staff, our professional leaders and our in-house equality and human rights team.”
