WORKFORCE: The number of family nurse positions in the English NHS has increased by 2,850 over the last year, the trust managing the scheme has said.

Figures from Tavistock and Portman Foundation Trust, which runs the Family Nurse Partnership scheme along with the Social Research Unit in Darlington and Impetus-PEF, show that at least 16,000 places for family nurses will be on offer by the end of this month, compared to 13,150 at the start of the financial year.

The work was previously carried out by the Department of Health and is commissioned by Public Health England.
