Andrew Thompson – chief technology officer and acting digital health lead at Lancashire and South Cumbria Integrated Care System – discussed how the ICS is seeking to make data more easily accessible and actionable across the region.

Meanwhile David Seymour, alliance executive director at Health Data Research UK, gave a sense of how unifying health data leads to increased opportunities for research and development.

In a conversation chaired by HSJ contributor Claire Read, and supported by Better – whose chief executive Tomaž Gornik rounded out the panel – they explored how NHS organisations might more consistently establish a consolidated view of important information. What will need to happen if such visions are to become reality? How can the service ensure that healthcare leaders always have the information they need to make the right decisions at the right time?

The event took place on Wednesday 12 May, 10.30am-11.15am.
