FINANCE: Tees, Esk and Wear Valleys NHS Foundation Trust exceeded its plans to record a net operating surplus of £6.5m during 2010-11.
It is about £750,000 more than planned. A board report said it was, “mainly due to vacancies”.
The surplus gives the trust a financial risk rating assessed at 4.5 for 2010-11 - also ahead of plan. The performance reflects an EBITDA margin of 10.9 per cent.
The trust’s cash-releasing efficiency savings were also £446,000 more than planned in the year.
